Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
patience is an unsung hero. it is nice to read that you have found it.
best of luck.
I wanted everything right now! (& still do at times). Thankfully, I was taught to sit still and feel the pain, rather than attempt to change it with people, food, sex, etc...
A seemingly impossible task at the beginning. All I knew was to blame others for me not being "OK". Thank God for a sponsor reminding me to turn it over or read this or that page in the big book or "the world doesn't revolve around you". (that one was news!)
When I hit a bottom sufficient for me, I became willing to hurt in order to have a better life although I didn't realize I'd made that choice. No better choice did I ever make. Pain, the touchstone to progress? In my experience, yes. I didn't give up 5 minutes before the miracle happened for once in my life.
I ask for help (HP) my friends, for a hunch a plan of action or a window to just crack to let in some fresh air or light to the situation. And then , follow the direction, for me anythings , almost, is better than like David Byrne's (talking heads says, 'Same as it ever Was....Same as it ever was.... Same as it ever was...patience and trust,,,and following through...scary I know but for me necessary.

Patience is a hard thing to have sometimes, but I take a deep breathe and say a few prayers, and get on with it yeah. If I have to put up with something for a short time, that's not going to last a lifetime, then it's worth the effort. My prayers for you Nicky. I know you will find the strength inside to keep moving forward. :} CM xxx
