I just joined, I live in total denial will admit that now, but tomorrow will tell you i can handle this!!!!

But know i cant, and dont know how to stop,,,,,,,,Alcohol my demon!!!!I dont want to go to AA, and wont .....does any of that make sense

Welcome peachy.......

You make alot of sense and it is a choice I made once upon a time.Alcohol nearly killed me and Demon is the right word for it.I hope you find time to read many of the older posts which are full of good ideas to beat this Demon.

The desire to stop drinking is the first step. And I dont mean AA, anyway of stopping, that is the first step.If you truly want it bad enough, you will do it, but you do have to have a belief in something greater than yourself. Sending hugs and peace and love

We notice everybody:) You know, my path of recovery wasn't through AA but there are many people who recover that way or in other ways. I am a devout yoga practitioner and a theistic Buddhist. I'll tell you one thing, you cannot do a complete yoga practice (it's more than physical) with a hangover. It's a path that works for me as I have a community of women and men who are all overcoming some form of addiction or trauma so it's very supportive. But AA has basically kept my youngest uncle alive when nothing else could. I can't knock AA for what it does for people. If you really want to quit then you will. I was in denial at one time. Also, I'm an opera singer. NOT good for performance or the old vocal chords. I've had a lot of incentives to heal myself. I know you will find one and that's what we're all hear for. yeah it makes alof of sense, its the alcoholism brewing in you. Hell the disease doesn't want you to go to AA, so it will try everything in it's power to keep you out.

However, your profile suggests that you feel confident and good about yourself. I do have to say that if you have Parkinson's then you know that excess alcohol consumption is not going to make it better. If you were a true 'devil may care' type of person, and they do exist, then you would never have posted here.
I've met 'devil may care' types of people and they question nothing and enjoy everything. I would say that's not true for you otherwise you wouldn't be here.
