Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Sometimes we get so focused on our own problems that we totally forget about those who love and care for us. Family and friends, they only want the best for us. There are times in our lives when we need to go way down deep into our heart and some how muster up the courage to change our own life before we can help others in our lives. I know about how hard depression, chronic pain, physical disability is. I have been there and still deal daily with a couple of them now. You have to make the decision every morning when you wake up, " what kind of day do I want to live today?" Who am I going to be? Am I going to let my mental and physical conditions take control of me or am I going to become a over-comer and take control of my life and live it to the best of my ability? I have found that over the many years of dealing with my own problems, I have learned many lessons. Believe it or not, but now I understand and use my problems as tools. Our problems are the tools that build our lives and turn us into the person who we are meant to be, if you let them. What do I mean? Such as; I cannot drive because of a health issue, as a teenager I was so angry because all my friends were learning how to drive and I could not. I was so mad at myself, then I thought it is not my fault I was born this way! So I shook my fist at God and got mad at him. Then, I learned how selfish I was being feeling sorry for myself. So, I couldn't drive, there was kids out there worse off than me, who couldn't walk, talk or hear...I learned to humble myself because I had to deal with anger. I also understand bipolar, I worked with a mom who struggled with it. Sometimes we need more help than a bottle of medicine or a person can give. We need to find hope, the only way that, that is possible is getting down on our knees and start praying.
Husband right now will focus only on his group of fellow recovering alcoholics; that's the way they support each other. I would suggest that in this sticky situation of you getting no support that it might be worth it to try an AlAnon meeting if you can. You do not have to commit to anything; attending is free, and listening costs nothing.
