Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Maybe one of these days 51% of your will want to get clean and you will have a chance at it.
I do know that not going to rehab because your friend would hate you forever is total bullsh*t. Have you looked into rehab? Are you ready for it?
I couldnt quit on my own. I had to drink
That was 114 days ago.
Thats a heck of a story but I bet there is someone in a room that can relate to you how they got thru something similar.
Alone I drink
With other recovering people I dont.
do you want to drink or quit ... Only you choose your fate. You will make the right choice I believe in you.
If this person you care about is your "best friend" -- he'd want what is best for you. If he doesnt, he's no friend.
So clean yourself up, dust yourself off and go into a meeting. Go to rehab if you can. Just don't keep doing the same old same old and expecting anything but the same old same old.
There was a time when i couldn't imagine going a day without out alcohol and for a long time while i was drinking I wished I would just pass out and die I was so full of shame guilt and remorse but i found out alcoholism kills you long before your dead anyway.
Sobriety wasn't easy for me at first probably why SOBER stands for Son Offa Bitch Everything's Real .Not only was I allergic to alcohol when it was in my body I was also allergic to Reality. My drinking had taken me into a fantasy world Where i didn't have to face up to things or be responsible.
I hated the world yet most people I hated only wanted to help but my disease wouldn't let me see that and it wasn't until I stopped believing the lies my disease was telling me I was able to get a little sanity into my life.
I have lost people who took there own lives I understand that but you have so much to get sober and live life for especially those babies you spoke about .Get well get them back or a least be there for them get off the poor me pot. I was there long enough for the both of us.
About moving to another town there's a saying ."Wherever I go there I am."' You can get sober and have a good life reach out to whatever help is available .I only posted this because I care.
Keep posting.
God Bless...

Look, your friend won't hate you forever, just until you die and then you wouldn't be in a position to care about that would you??
If alcohol is still so alluring to you maybe you are not ready to quit?
I will never forget how shattering it was when I picked up a gin after 3 years of not drinking - I had held on to the idea that gin and bitter lemon was the best taste on God's earth. I picked it up on that fateful day and it truly tasted disgusting, so I finished the bottle of course but sometimes we believe these things when they are not true - ask yourself what percentage it really is that wants to quit - if you hit over 51% I'd get to AA and start to recover!
