Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

make sure you take your bifocals! LOL
also might want to carry along a dictionary for this type of meeting sometimes a vague word can pop out of the text to be looked up and discussed....
There are differences from place to place but the format is generally the same. At our group, someone chairs the meeting for a month and this is the only person at the Top Table. He or she opens like any other meeting but instead of then having someone share their E,S & H he reads a passage from the Big Book. Normally, two or three pages would be read, starting where it finished at the last meeting. He then goes back to the beginning of the reading and invites each person present to read about a paragraph each. Anyone who does not wish to read may pass.
After the initial couple of pages have been re-read by those around the room, the meeting is opened for sharing. People are encouraged to share about what has just been read but of course they are free to share about anything. The meeting then concludes like any other.
There is no better place to learn about the Big Book and the 12 Step programme.
