I'm intersted in finding a virtual sponsor, someone I can talk to via email, chat or cell phone when tempted to drink. Is anyone aware of a website or service that helps people connect with virtual sponsors?

I think there are one or two people on this board who will do the AA type sponsering but as far as that goes, you can message most anyone here and we will collectively try to help you in any way we can. While that doesn't really fit the definition of an AA sponser for example, it will still be of help. Just writing down what you are feeling when you get triggered is help in and of itself.

Whatever life throws at you, chances are some of us here have been through the same thing so there are lots of people willing to help so don't be afraid to ask.

I don't have any sponsee and never have sponsored anyone....I would be happy to help if you want....pm me and I can send telephone number and email....also a place for online meetings is www.intherooms.com and they prob would figure out some how to see you get some sponsorship going on....they have chat room that I enjoyed but it can be rough in there at times....so check that out...hugs bill
I am sober soon to be 20yrs and only one guy asked me to sponsor him to get a weekend pass out of the mental hospital he was in for treatment when I lived on Guam...never saw him again after giving him my name on paper to show them for the weekend pass....I left Guam 4yrs sober in 1999....
