Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I went to an AA meeting this morning and it was one of those meetings where I thought everyone else had me in mind when they shared so I came out of that meeting feeling pretty good that I had gone and I came away feeling that my Higher Power was in control and that I truly had absolutely nothing to worry about!!
Later today, I started thinking about everything that was wrong with my life and here is what I came up with:
1. Wife is divorcing me.
2. I cut my thumb off
3. wife is in the hospital
4. I don't have much money
But then I thought of all the positives that are on the other side of the coin.
1. It was a bad marriage anyway. This is my chance to get out of the cage I been in for the last 24 years!
2. Could have been worse, dr reattached it telling me I was very lucky. I left just a piece of skin that had a few very important blood vessals and nerves in it. Another fraction of a milimeter and it may have been a different outcome! It will heal and I will have it back.
3. I think this was a wake up call for her. She was extremely sick with an infection and dehydration. She may be coming home tomorrow.
4. I have all I need. I have plenty of food and a roof oer my head!
Life is good! I am happy and content.

Am sorry to hear about your thumb. What a horrible accident. Glad you are healing and able to manage.
