Great post! I started to do gratitude lists in AA on my sponsor's advise and later went on to say thank you for things in my morning meditation.

The things I am thankful for today are:

1. My Sexy Donald Trump costume that I ordered off the Internet and wore to a Halloween party last weekend and this coming weekend.
2. My cat, who brings me so much joy.
3. Coconut oil, it's so versatile and good for the skin.
4. My apartment, which I love and hope to die in 40 years from now.
5. Magic
6. the accessibility of the medication I need to keep my multiple psychiatric illnesses managed
7. The Medicare that allows me to manage my illnesses
8. My sobriety, 1 3/4 years now, for which I am so happy.

I've got to see this Donald Trump sexy costume. I've heard several references to this costume and have yet to see one. I'm not sure how this can be made sexy. Since you have girl in your handle I'm assuming this is a female version of the costume. LOL. Wonder what Trump thinks of this.
Man I love me some hot apple cider too. Also with the Captain. Alas that is not for me anymore. I have still partaken in my cider this season. I still like the taste without the booze. As long as it's hot. I have many a Halloween trick or treat night that is a blur. This is one of the things I kick myself for. They years with the little's goes so fast. You want to remember all of it. I have a hard time remembering much of it because I was drunk and shit is blurry. If only I knew this 10 yrs ago. How fast time would fly.

I added American flag leggings, white heels with Trump stickers on the toes and Trump stickers that I also ordered from the Internet.

I too used to drink a lot on Halloween and so many Halloweens found myself walking home in a crazy outfit. So glad my sobriety allows me to drive myself home safe and sound now.

That costume is SICK!!!! Love it!

I'm not doing anything special for Halloween. I put up a few decorations in my apartment and I found a cool spider pendant at a crafts store. Today I'm trying to make a small spider web out of craft wire to make a necklace and put it all together.

I think I'll get some carry-in BBQ and watch the World Series. GO ROYALS! Our home team rocks!!!

Cool costume!!!!! I'm going to a Halloween dress up yoga party with glow lights. I'm probably going to do something easy, like a cat so I can still move around. We are expecting rain on Halloween evening. I hope we can still take my daughter trick-or-treating. If it's raining, we will stay inside and make empanadas and cookies maybe. I took her trick-or-treating at the museum already for their children's party. Have fun everybody! Love seeing your costume ideas.

Magpie, I drank away years of memories too. Now that you are sober, get out there and make new ones!.:):):) Hell, when I sobered up I got to watch movies like they were brand new again. I usually was too sloshed to concentrate on, lol!

fairygirl, I'm glad I finally found a road to a spiritual connection, my healthy family, and members of Alcoholics Anonymous for teaching me how to live a life worth living!

Your enthusiasm is contagious! When my kids were young, Hal and I would dress up. He was the clown and I was a chimney sweep. I hope you have an awesome Halloween!

I had to stop with the personal names of booze. I just call it all alcohol. You are missing a fermented Bev not the captain I too loved rum. In fact I drank a whole bottle the last night I loved it so much. I will never forget taking it out to the street and pouring the last finger down the drain. I loved it because it made me not feel. But he became my master and now I don't need him. Lose the booze

I am thankful that I have my little one to bring out Trick or Treating tonite. He is getting to the age where he is SO fun to do things with. He had his heart set on being a dinosaur this year, so that is what he is. He's too adorable for words:))

I also am thankful that I will be sober tonite to make sure he is safe, happy and sharing in memories with his mommy.

CHEERS....that apple cider sans rum sounds delish:)
