Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
This morning I am going to see a therapist for addiction.
I actually think its 2 sessions. One is with the initial lady i saw a few weeks ago for an interview. Today is a followup.
Then hopefully i have another analysis interview with the treatment facility to see what outpatient options there are for me.
In the meantime - Im still on reducing doses of librium and taking it one day at a time.

Be honest with yourself and allow yourself to feel. It's okay.

She wasnt there, apparently her kids are sick. And the other lady hadnt scheduled me. I booked today off especially. So now i have to wait on them contacting me again.
I am very disappointed. :(
In typical fashion, I was tempted to indulge today afterwards. But I wont - Im keeping busy.

What rumrunner says - sometimes is true. People with lots of emotional problems become interested in the field because they have issues. Sometimes it makes them more understanding - sometimes not.
What a shame. They have no clue what they put you thru.

You made me laugh. When I was a teen and in a foster home it was a requirement the kids go to counseling.
The psychiatrist ended up losing his license in the state and moved to another state. Big news. He had a HUGE building in his name and was very well known. Big scandal.
His assistant was a psychologist. She was an ex-nun and married. At 15 I could make her cry at the drop of a hat just mentioning God. Cracked me up. Mean...but I was a kid and didn't want to be there in the first place. I hope she forgives me.
