Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Today is my 3rd day not drinking ...
It has been a hellish year where my addiction escalated really quickly ... For months non stop, I used to wake up around 10am or 11am and start with 2/3 beers. After that I would have a bottle of wine and finish it in maybe 1 hour. Back to the shop to get the alcohol for the next day. This happened every day for months :(
It's pretty hard, but it has to stop. Whatever ideas you have that might help me keep this thing away, please go ahead :)

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

All I can tell you is that several years ago now I was in a really bad place. I decided that I had to stop drinking and then found that I couldn’t do it despite my best efforts.
There were a lot of things that I said I would never do, including going to an AA meeting. However, when the chips were down and the future looked terrifying, someone said to me: “Go to a meeting – you won’t regret it”.
I did, and I didn’t.
Maybe you could do the same.

9 years ago, I didn't want to live anymore. I threw my hands up in the air in an angry prayer to God and said, " I give up! It's your turn to take control of my life! I just can't do it anymore!" This was the defining moment in my life. From this point on, everything changed for the better. It seemed like some Higher Power was manipulating the pieces of the puzzle of my life and placing them exactly where they needed to go. I had money coming in from places I never expected, my marriage improved, I got a new job that I really liked alot, and I made alot of new sober friends at AA meetings, who would do anything and everything to help me stay sober!
It was 9 years ago that I my life turned around when I decided to get sober. Today I have a great life and I have never been happier! Good luck on your road to recovery!
God Bless
