Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I'm finding it really tiring being sober. Keeping myself busy and going to AA instead of being obliterated at night is wearing me out. Does this stage pass? I guess I'm sleeping a lot less plus my anxiety has increased. Yesterday I felt really panicky for some of the day. I'd like to hear if other people have had this experience. Today is day 11 for me. Thanks to all the people who sent me friend requests.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Yes! I was sleeping a lot. I wondered what was wrong with me. I was taking care of my body and it knew what to do. Rest! I know what you mean about being panicky. When we get stressed, it was natural to reach for that fix. Now that we don't reach for alcohol, we gotta find other things to help us get through. Feed your soul, with what feeds you. I've resumed past interests and if I hang on, the urges pass. And I have to confess, chocolate helps. Lol. You are doing great. Hang tough

Thanks for your ideas. Its good to know I'm not the only one. Gracie I think I will turn into a chocoholic instead of an alcoholic lol. I've got 2 bars in the fridge. Heart I just went to the library and that seemed to calm me down a bit. Maybe I should have stayed there a bit longer. I got out a book so might start reading it now.
You can do more and you will accomplish more without alcohol.
What I gave up for booze was astonishing. What I got back in sobriety is equally if not more amazing as I'm not profoundly grateful and aware of what a gift it is. WHEN I choose to look at it that way.
thanks for the beautiful reminder:-)
My sponser use to tell me "This too shall pass"!
God Bless!
