Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

If you're really sick and tired of being sick and tired, go to an AA meeting. Go to lots of them. Surround yourself with people who have been exactly where you are, and have found a wonderful life.
So......for me AA was that solution. I found out through others who were doing it, how to live sober a day at a time. Whenever I have questions --- I ask other sober alcoholics who are doing it and have been through it. With their help/ with a strong program/ its been possible and even wonderful to be sober for 4 years; 9 months.....a day at a time.
I couldnt string together any days that were *comfortable* before. I'd get sober; drink; get sober; drink.....on and off for years. It was hopeless un5il i walked through the doors of AA and raised my hand.
It took me checking out 2 other meetings but I finally found my home group. That was over 3 years ago.
I would quit but I couldnt stay quit until I found a program and found abunch of sober friends. I realized that I wasnt alone. I wasnt a bad person, just I have a problem with alcohol.

It is possible, Cmon!!!
Partly I guess because of fear and because I'm single now and miss her. Not drinking is hard enough let alone feeling depressed over a break up It did feel really good to feel like they cared about me and we're glad I showed up I will go back on Wednesday as I work nights tomorrow and Tuesday
Second, they have am/noon meetings most places (I go to noon meetings.)
Third, I cried like a mother at my first meeting when I raised my hand and spoke. I was lucky. Three people gave me their business cards. One guy handed me a phone list and another ordered me to buy a big book.
I would get a big book ASAP. It's great reading. For now don't worry about speaking in the meeting. Identify people at your meetings who you feel comfortable with and confide in them after. That's the beauty of the fellowship.
Don't worry about never drinking again. Just work on not drinking today.
