Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
You might think you are but your not alone in this deal.
"Trying Harder" never works. Giving up and surrendering to the fact that you have this thing and cannot cure it on your own......THAT is the beginning of a path to recovery. Go Sleep!
Working on yourself for a while hasn't worked so far, and it isn't important to AA that you stack 30 days before joining up. They want you now.
Go to meetings, get a sponsor, and as an old timer said to me"sit, down, shut up, and listen".
Well, I believe in sharing when and if you need to, but the advice is essentially right.
Give it a chance, keep coming back, it works!
I needed rehab. Alot of us can and do benefit from it, and without it can't quit on our own. I knew i needed to be brainwashed against alcohol for myself. My willpower was gone. That is fine, there is nothing wrong that i needed help. It is not fair to beat yourself up just because you cannot quit on your own. That's the stronghold alcoholism has on you. It will get worse, not better. Do what you need to do to get better. There should be some kind of government help where you are. I don't know about where you live, but i am sure people there want to help you. You are sick and need help and guidance. I needed to be in a safe place where alcohol wasn't around. I HAD to stay away from it completely for a while. I did not even go to a restaurant that served it for a while. It had THAT strong of a hold on me. SOUND FAMILAR? Can you go in somewhere for help?
Marsha died last Thursday.
I know you are from the Indy area, did you hear about it?????.
Do you think that if you can't do it with AA you will be able to do it on your own???
the want has to be more then the need and i know you want this.. dont give up...
me;
Hugs,
Dennis
What the hell do you think you're supposed to offer at this moment? YOU need help, YOU need encouragement, YOU need support.
And ya know what? You do have something to offer. YOU will help THEM by giving them the opportunity to help YOU. Get it?
Have you even been going to meetings? Have you made any friends?
I guess you're right about not having the willingness, I hope you find it before it's too late.
I know what you're doing see, you've posted on the no steps board asking how long people have been sober without aa and what other methods are out there and blah blah blah...which is absolutely fine, please explore all options.
But any program you choose you will have to commit to 100% and you said you're self that you're not willing to commit. You're searching desperately for the program that's gonna say it's okay for you to keep drinking while in recovery. :)
Until you find that willingness, enjoy your misery.....
Love you
She's tried to kill herself twice, that I know of. Totalled her car & did a number on her passenger. Lost her apartment. Let her dog out to pee, passed out & he's dead-got ran over. Lost her very part time job at Steak N Shake for stealing scripts outta co-workers purses......& turnin' herself out for dope & booze.
She didn't think she had anything to offer either. Always know when a newcommer says "I've been thinking......" it will turn into a major cluster f*$k.
I'll pray for ya girl. I hope your mind clears & you see the light.
Love ya, Billie
I have ADD,social anxiety disorder, depression and alcoholism and a sex addiction.A friend of mine committed suicide 2 weeks ago.I still
have hope that i will survive this. And i WILL...Keep trying and never give up.
Better days ahead,

Personally, I am tired of it. If you were my sister I'd have an Intervention. You better go before I get to you!!!! With love of course...
But truly Anna, it's getting old. YOU HAVE to go get more help than what we can give you here. Period. Then once you are more stabilized you will be able to help others and let others help you. Till then this is a dead end for you. Your dead end.
This may not sound funny to you but I was actually thinking about you needing to join the "Multiple Personality" support group. That is how weird you get when you are drinking compared to when you are not.
Please go get an intake for inhouse rehab first thing in the am. Please for you. luv, alice
