Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
During the times in my life when I doubted the existance of a Higher Power, things always seemed to go bad, but during the times when I kept in daily communication with Him through prayers and meditaion, things seemed to go well, I mean, I didn't win the lottery or anything, but I seemed to get everything I needed!
During my college days I did alot of mountain climbing. My last climb of the season was on Bear mountain in South Waterford, Maine. Bear mountain was very challenging because it had many huge boulders at the bottom and a steep rocky face near the top.
I was three quarters of the way up this face when I slipped and fell. While I was tumbling, I had such a helpless feeling knowing I couldn't stop myself. In my head I said, "God? My life is in your Hands!" Had I gone straight down or to my left it would have meant certain death or serious injury's at the very least but for some unexplainable reason, I rolled off toward the right which was a more gradual descent. I ended up with a mild concussion and alot of cuts and bruises.
The following morning, while recovering from my wounds in the hospital, I was watching tv. where a Baptist minister was preaching since it was on a Sunday! Normally, I would have turned the channel but I could't. I just had this feeling that I would hear a very important message.. So I listen while he took a ball out of his paocket and said, "this is how God creates miracles"! as he bounced the ball up and down. "If God created a miracle on this ball, he would not stop it from bouncing," and then he bounced the ball off to the right which was the exact direction of my fall. He said, "God does not change the laws of gravity, He only alters them temporarily by changing the direction of the ball." That is how He creates miracles!
I felt a chill up my spine because I knew it was a sign and there was absolutely no doubt in my mind. it was meant for me!
On February 8th of next year, I will have been sober and drug free for 3 years. That is a miracle, you can ask my friends and family!
My Higher Power has kept that stuff away from me! I really believe that I am here today by the grace of God!

God has no religion. Those are man made things . My God just enjoys my company and I enjoy his. Ihaave a list of miracles that God has put in my life. Not least of which I recieved a heart transplant in 07.
The miracle there would be he gave somebody alot more smarts than me.And he gave the donor family the compassion to save a life. I really thank God for his guidance and support through out my sobriety. Hes been with me for 26 years so far. I'm ready willing and able to pass on the message of hope.
