Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

so very many people that know alcohols rupture of themselves. Myself included. The answer is your desire not to drink and get some sleep. Blessed sleep.
Honestly your post this a.m. just pisses me off.
Life is precious; its a gift.
Get out of your pity party and go to an AA meeting.
Your point of view, that the world is a dark place, nobody cares, and life isn't worth living, is not a fact; it is only your opinion. If you're willing to change your mind, there's plenty of help out there.
I can relate to how you feel because I searched for the answers in the bottom of the glass for several decades. I never did find the answer in a glass and it would have been difficult to do so because I did not even know what the question was. I did a lot of other things too, such as trying religion, joining strange cults, listening to loud and angry music, reading inspirational books etc. but the answer still eluded me. In the meantime I became very unhappy with life and drank more and more. However, the thing that caused the greatest misery (alcohol) also led indirectly to the answer I was looking for.
What I found is that for me at least, the answers were within myself all along but I was cut off by a virtual brick wall from that source of inner knowledge. My defence was ignorance because I did not know that there was another way. When the rudderless boat began to drift towards the rocks I sent out an S.O.S. and Alcoholics Anonymous came to the rescue.
I do not have any knowledge of PTSD but I do know about that empty feeling. I was always looking for something to fill that inner void. Like you, I used to think that the world was a horrible, dark place but it is not and I can now see the beauty of it. You can forget with alcohol but it only works for a while so it is better to learn a different approach. Even though it may be difficult to see right now, people do care and life is worth living.
I cannot tell you what to do because it is your journey. What I can tell you is that I have found the key to happy and sober living through the Twelve Steps of Alcoholics Anonymous. My peace of mind today is not dependent on what other people do or dont do; I no longer have to seek approval or be afraid that someone is not pleased; neither do I constantly strive for perfection but instead, I try my best. Today, I can look at the world and see the flowers where before I saw only weeds. The void that I tried to filled with alcohol is now filled through a connection with the inner spirit.
The answers are there for you too but they are probably to be found within your own inner spirit.
