Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I have been a shocking alcoholic most my life. I am now 7 years dry.
I have always been honest about my reasons for not drinking and I have always been met with 100% support and even a pat on the back. I'm not judged I am commended for my efforts.
If your worried about your family knowing your problems, chances are they already know. its a bit like being gay. You cant hide it no matter how hard you try.
I think you'll find if you tell your family a different reason as to why your not drinking you'll end up with more pressure to drink. for example your training. You'll get the come on just 1 it isn't going to hurt you etc etc but as where if you tell them you have an alcohol problem. It stops dead there. They don't want to push alcohol on a recovering alcoholic. That's wrong
All and all darl the decision lies with you. I hope I have been some help to you
Cheers Donna
Hugs,
Dennis
spill the beans... that way you will not be able to unspill them.
Good luck with whatever you decide

Also there is a big difference between telling people all your problems and saying you are not drinking. You don't have to explain to anyone why you are not drinking if you don't want to. Don't let other people's expectations, pressures make you say anything you don't want to.
Well done on 36 days :)
