Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
It's not about the blame game in AA, we learn that the only person we can really do something about, with God's help, is ourselves so we do a lot of self searching to see where we can adjust ourselves to "what is" and seek spiritual growth which brings strength and courage when dealing with life on life's terms. We learn to forgive others for our own sake, we learn not to hold on to resentments for our own sake, we learn from things and move on.
Clinging to self pity and letting the wrong doing of others dominate us is a death sentence if we are alcoholic. I don't know about you but I drank because I am an alcoholic and I would drink no matter what.
To find a lasting sobriety I had to find a way out of the bondage of self and others. Alone it was too much for me but with God's help and the people of AA I found that way out. The journey continues and it is amazing.
Open your mind to new possibilities and a whole different way of seeing things and then there is the possibility of change. Fear of change is common but change is vital for recovery. Don't you wish to be free of this person living in your head? The question is not who's to blame but how can I come to terms with what happened and find some serenity in my life so I no longer think I need to drink?
