Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Whats your take on it?
I tried all 3 ways. I firstly resigned myself to the fact that I would die of alcoholism and tried to blot out my remaining life but alcohol stopped working and my situation was intolerable however much I drank.
I then tried a middle of the road solution where I attended AA meetings and tried to stay sober but that turned out to be almost as intolerable as the drinking. And didnt work, I was always heading for a relapse, relaping or sobering up from a relapse. There was no relief from alcoholism in that. I thought I could save myself or someone else could save me but it turned out to be true that there was, for me, no return through human aid, mine or anyone else's.
Finally, I was willing to accept spiritual help and I can definitely say it is by far the best of the three choices by a million miles. We try to convey it as best we can but really you have to experience it to fully appreciate how different life can be.
But it took a LOT to get me to the point of being willing though..that sure sucked! :)
