Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I know there a few Texans on this board. I'm one, and would like to introduce myself.
My name is Michele, 8 years sober as 07/04/12. I'm from Houston (Bay Area), have lived in Austin, Round Rock and now live in a rural town somewhere in between. I sobered up at the Bay Area Club in League City, and when in Austin, attended Western Trails, the Suburban Group and Brushy Creek Group in Round Rock.
I would love to meet some of my fellow sober Texans as I trudge to road of happy destiny.
And just an FYI - the 38th Annual Hill Country Roundup will be held in Kerrville, Tx on Aug 24-26.

...I'm Bill, sober for 22 days now. Live in Lubbock at the moment, but thinking about relocating to Sugarland area.
I would think about the roundup, but there is no way I would be able to plan that far ahead.....hell, its hard to plan whats for lunch today!

My home group is the LaLousiann Group but also attend the Sherwood Group and Midtown. This is a town with great sobriety. I'm the Secretary of the Thursday noon meeting.
