Im on day 11 of sobriety. 3 days ago I noticed a growing pain in my stomach (or so I thought). Figuring it was constipation I took treatment. That didnt help. It has since moved into my right side above my hip bone.
My Wife thinks its my appendix, but other than the pain, location, and the occasional chills, I dont have any of the other symptoms of appendicitis.
Im thinking this is somehow related to my quitting drinking?
My Dr.s office wants me to go to the Emergency room.
Anyone else have this issue after stopping drinking?

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
A friend of mine just had his gall bladder out but because he ignored the pain for so long, he almost died. Had to walk around with a drainage tube sticking out of his stomach for almost a month.
Listen to your DR and go to the ER. but congratulations on 11 days!

The experience of other people is of little relevance here. Go to the Emergency Room as suggested by your doctors office and get professional help. Hopefully it will turn out to be nothing to worry about but either way you need to know the truth. It may not be an appendix problem but ignoring such a problem can be dangerous.
