Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

It was hell!
Welcome to DS dancingfisherman!
The good news is, it won't last so hang in there! Drink lots of water and try to stay in touch with people who have been in your shoes like DS or AA. It helps to have a program, especially in the early stages of recovery. It will increase your chances of staying sober but whatever you do is up to you. We can only tell you what worked for us.
Good luck on your road to recovery and may you find peace and happiness along the way.
God Bless
I was waking up 6 times per night, which was driving me crazy, I spoke to my doctor and he told me to get Seremind/natural lavender oil capsules - which I did, I am now 5 1/2 months sober, and wake up once per night - it took a while but I just persevered and eventually got through it.
I also took Vitamin C and ate lots of citrus/oranges etc. This is what worked for me, so just putting it out there as am sure we all can give you lots of different options.
Remember, your mind and body is resetting itself after all the years of alcohol, so that takes a bit of time - but just know, we have done it and so can you. The first few months are the hardest, and then it all becomes normal, and life changes in the most amazing ways - one day at a time - take care Lisa
I packed bananas and a pp&j (fruit only jam) on whole grain bread to get me through the day.
So yes when I quit I felt tired. Depressed more like it. It took awhile for my body to mend and more time for me to start eating the right things.
Just think about small wins. Today I didn’t... go to the bar, spend a bunch of money , eat abunch of bar wings / cheese sticks. Make some short term goals.
I had to get a chocolate shake every day for the first year I was so hooked on the carbs I HAD to have it. It beat boozing.
The body will adjust and then you have to get busy, cause we all know what a feeling better alcoholic does real well... drink again without some help and change
