Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Drinking alcoholically causes anxiety and depression. Quitting might not be a cure for what you are going through but it is a starting point.
I also suffer from insomnia. It was one of the reasons I first starting drinking excessively at night. I was quite surprised when I found I WAS able to sleep after I quit. My insomnia kicked back in after I was sober for awhile but I was better able to deal with it and use coping strategies that would work that did not involve passing out in a blackout at night.
If you don't want to go to rehab, then don't go, though I have to say that you sound quite melodramatic about it. Go to intensive outpatient. Go to AA. Or do what I did and make it through a single day without drinking and say the hell with it and quit despite all the excuses you have to keep poisoning yourself.
I care what happens to you.
There is hope.
Do not give up hope...
You think you are the only one with a phobia - not so!
Start slowly, but get out. Smile at people. People are just as shy as you are.
Take good care.
