One of the most important things A.A. has given me, in addition to freedom from booze, is the ability to take "right action." It says the promises will always materialize if I work for them. Fantasizing about them, debating them, preaching about them and faking them just won't work. I'll remain a miserable, rationalizing dry drunk. By taking action and working the Twelve Steps in all my affairs, I'll have a life beyond my wildest dreams.

My experience too. I have been given a life beyond my wildest dreams.
Freedom, Power, Stability, Spirituality and so many more, the greatest of which the Obsession to drink has been removed.

Just one day at a time, putting one foot in front of the other, striving to do the next right thing, asking for God's guidence and then try like hell to stay of his way.

Right action produces right results.....

For this rationalizing, grandiose, justifying drunk, pain had to come before the joy. The pain of holding on to those old ideas. But when I let go, the freedom was amazing, maybe because I'd never felt it before.

I worked the Steps until one day I discovered that I was living the spiritual principles. I'm content to be where I'm at rather than "over there where the grass is greener" (Ha, what a delusion). Life is not supposed to be a Greek tragedy anymore. I have friends, a family that loves and respects and TRUSTS me and an open door policy to talk to God whenever I want to. Who has time to think about alcohol? Oh yeah, God removed that obsession long ago.
