Yeh, I found that life has opened up since I stopped drinking. In a lovely, gentle way. As long as I stay away from the first drink - so much else is on offer. I hope you enjoy your world expanding, and that you stay sober.

Hello, I too can see how narrow life becomes with this addiction. Fear is the most difficult thing for me, fear of the unknown, fear of the unpleasant side effects in withdrawal, fear of how I can resist the urge to drink, fear of failure - oh goodness so many fears.
But its good to talk about them, this is the first time I have, so thanks for reading.
I want a bigger world with choice and freedom from the prison that alcohol has made for me.
I hope too that you can have a bigger world 6161. Lets see if we can make it really big together.

Traded drinking for a personal trainer! Cost is not that different, but I feel alive rather than numb. Biggest challenge is those that were fine with you living in a narrow world. Keep your head up and your eyes open! You can do this and do it well!!

Today I celebrate my 70th birthday. Sober my world has expanded. It has been a great adventure and continues to be great. If i take that one drink, I risk going back to that lonely world.When I drink, I do nothing but stay at home and drink. What a waste!
