There have been a couple of recent posts by women who claim they related better to men than to women. I wonder if women, myself included, really relate better to men, or are we just better at manipulating men? Are our attempts at manipulation more successful with men than with women?
I know I got along better with men, had more men friends and like men more than women. I just didn't like women. I couldn't trust them. Always felt that I had to compete with my woman "friends".
Having and working with a female sponsor taught me that I can trust woman, that I don't have to compete. And working with female sponsees continues that learning process for the next woman alcoholic.

I don't like people who don't act like people. People who pretend to be other people that they are not. Those kind of people are not the peoples people. They are some kind of strange people. You know the kind of people I am talking about don't you people?
I like to be a people person, myself.
When I was being brutally honest with my steps, and yes the sex side, the fact that my sponsor was a man didn't even come into play. I was so damn ensconced in emotion, he could have been a bloody hermaphrodite for all I knew. But he was a guiding angel in my life.
I have best friends of both sex. I am grateful and enriched for having them in my life today, if we connect as friends, it dosn't matter what you are. I trust all my friends, male and female, who show truth in our friendship.
