Good day,



I live overseas. I am in a country which is conducive to a lifestyle of sex, drugs, and alcohol. I hope I can find some strength to make real effort towards change. Looking to make contacts and participate in discussion. Hoping to find some help.

If you don't feel you can find enough help online, AA meetings are worldwide.

Good luck on your road to recovery. We take it one day at a time here. When I wake up in the morning, I pledge, I will not drink today. Today, I can handle. Not worried about tomorrow. It's in the future. Right now, this moment is all that concerns me.

i do appreciate the message. I have seen AA here, but the language barrier makes things a bit cumbersome.

i do hope to find plenty of online resources. I want to take things one day a time.

For an alcoholic or addict, every country is conducive to alcohol, sex and drugs.

We find it when we want it. As for AA meetings, which are not the only solution- I know people that travel the world going to meetings.

They may not understand a single word but the get the message.

For me, I try to go to AA meetings, talk to my sponsor, work the steps, journal, list gratitudes, avoid triggers and try to be of service to others. I definitely take it one day at a time.

I do not go to AA. i found sobriety without it. I know that Life Ring has online meetings and so does AA. I use this Daily Strength group.

Extend your support network in whichever way you feel c.omfortable - the more people you have looking out for you the less likely you are to relapse.

The hard work though is down to you. Most alcoholics hide their drinking and often drink alone. I was ashamed to admit I struggled with drink but when I started to tell family and friends the weight lifted - I was no longer persecuted for wanting to be the designated driver and I no longer had to fend off friends encouragement to just have one!

You'll find your path - you just have to want sobriety more than you want to die.

    check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

     I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...
