Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
Here you go nurse! I think this is it! T
I will never, ever do that again.

I love this and don't all at the same time.
I love the idea that "feedom is mine today" that "always putting off my living for tomorrow" is keeping you in the grips of dependency. The faith that you need, that your soul is trying to get you to wake up and see, is that
"strengh, courage and wisdom-It's been inside of me all along, everyday"
The part I don't like is the whole
"Behind my pride lives a me, that knows humility"
Just google the word "humility" and the first definition that comes up is
a modest or low view of one's own importance; humbleness."
This is the wrong message to be sending people who are at a low point and stuck in a dependency! You need to believe that YOU ARE IMPORTANT not reinforce the negative feelings of self-loathing, that you are meek and unworthy. That doens't mean that you should be an egotistical and arrogant jerk, but it does mean that you should bolster your self-confidence and feeling of worth.
That's what, IMHO, internal strength, courage and wisdom is all about!

Rolf
I have a different experience of humility Freedom. For me, as an active alcoholic, everything was too much about me and I was selfish so I had to learn to keep a healthy balance of "self" - neither lesser than nor greater than anybody else in my thoughts and actions. That's how I see humility and I need to keep striving for that.
Like Antonia, I don't see humility as "a modest or low view of one's own importance". I see if it the way eastern philosophers do, being no more or no less than your fellow human being. You can be strong, wise, and humble at the same time. It's a very personal interpretation of the word.
I was hoping that these lyrics might lift others spirits the way it lifts mine. And it takes humility to admit that you need help. At least it did for me! Like everything else we post here, we need to take what works for us, and leave the rest for others.
Peace back to you,
Kate
