Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I can't believe it's already been a week since my last drink. I guess it's nothing to brag about, I mean, it's only a week. Last night I got a phone call from a friend that I usually drink with. He called me from the bar. At first I ignored the phone call, then he called again. I answered and he tried to convince me to come out. I heard the music in the background, the laugher and drinks clinking and it was like I could actually smell the alcohol. I resisted though. I told him I couldn't drink anymore and he replied, "You? Not drink?" And laughed. I told him I'd talk to him sober and hung up. I was proud of myself.
My mom just got home from work as I was writing this. I could hear the opening of her can of beer. All I keep thinking about is going to the store and buying a case of beer. Now every time I walk into the kitchen I could smell the beer and I want to drink some so bad. I wish she'd quit knowing that I'm trying to, but she has her own addictions.
Im going to remain strong and refrain from drinking a drop of alcohol. Tomorrow I'm going to try to go AA again. Wish me luck!!

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

I would disagree with you on one thing – one week certainly is something to brag about so give yourself a lot of credit.
When you get those urges to drink, run the tape in your head all the way forward to what happens afterwards and you will see good reasons to stay sober. It is unfortunate that other people are not supportive but that is all the more reason to get to that AA meeting, where you will be with people who understand and who will want to see you doing well.
Keep up the great work! Much love!
These are things i learned while in outpatient treatment years ago. The first thing I did when I got out of treatment was get rid of all my drinking buddies. I erased them from my phone and I had absolutely no contact with them whatsoever because their only interest in me was to drag me down in the gutter with them and I was no longer interested!.
Whatever you learn, that works for you and helps keep you sober, do not ever forget and keep posting because the path you take on your road to recovery may help someone else!. Keep up the fight!
God Bless
If nothing changes, nothing changes
Get to the meeting, simply the act of going is a step that starts to make you empowered with your life. Grab life by the horns and hold on, it's a wild ride!
