Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I read here a lot but I don't post. Today, however, is a great day for me. Today marks the first time I've ever made it to a month sober HAPPILY. It has always been a severe struggle for me to stay sober, but I think I've changed that. Over the last year and a half, I have divorced a highly abusive man, made huge strides toward finding myself again, gained significant confidence, and gotten involved with an old friend, who is a genuinely wonderful and supportive partner. Now, I KNOW all of these good things are supposed to come AFTER we get sober, but I feel like, for me, they helped kick the door to sobriety wide open for me. I had the WANT part and I knew it was something I NEEDED to do (before things got much worse), but I could never string together more than a few days or - if I did - I was a mess. I am now one month sober and, though there have been some difficult moments (attended a music festival last week, for example), it feels (almost) natural to me this time around. I think I have finally hit the point where I can REALLY do this!
I wish everyone else a great day!

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Now, 9 years later, the miracles keep coming and every day is an adventure for me, every day there are more miracles to be in awe at and every day is a sheer joy to be a part of and I have never been happier!
God Bless
