Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
During one of the warm days of last summer I climbed a little mountain that is located close to where I live. It was the toughest thing that I had done for a long time and I thought about giving up and turning back many times. However, I dragged myself up there, using every clump of grass and every rock that I could grab for support. I was exhausted when I reached the top but what a great reward it was, with breath-taking (no breadth left at that stage) views in every direction. As I surveyed my new empire I noticed that there was a nice little path about fifty yards to the right of where I had struggled to climb. With a bit of guidance the journey could have been so much easier but I guess that I got a lot of satisfaction from overcoming a difficult challenge.
You are now metaphorically ascending that craggy reek as you try to overcome alcoholism. Grab on to every rock that can be used to pull yourself a little further towards the summit. Rest when you have to but never turn back. Above all, look around to see if there is a path that makes the climb a bit easier.
When I started to climb out of the hell of active alcoholism I was fortunate enough to stumble upon the path of Alcoholics Anonymous.
It gets better
