Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Hi all. Thought I'd check in and share that on my way home in the snow yesterday I had the thought of stopping for a warm up nipper. I had a brief fantasy of having a coffee with Grand Mariner as I was getting out of work a little early and had the afternoon to myself. Fortunately my love of my sobriety over rode this thought and I know that a brief moment of (maybe) pleasure is no trade for the lifestyle I have now.
Drove right by my old package store (where the owner used to keep a case of my favorites) and, instead, went for a long walk on a new trail till dark. Had a wonderful time and was so thankful to be present in the deep quiet of the forest with the snow frosting the trees and making that beautiful sound. Amazing that even after 5 years those old habits still appear.
Not a drop will pass my lips again. The promise to myself that is changing my very being. To throw this away on a fleeting bottle? Nope!!!

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Glad you have the resolve to stay quit. That is rare and you should be proud
