Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
It might help you to talk about some of the things that have happened when you are drunk - you will find that there will be many, many people in this Alcoholism Group who've done the same things and bringing things into the light helps the journey to start to address the problem.
This Group is a broad alcoholism site - not specific to AA members, so it doesn't matter if you're an AA member or not, you're welcome here.
I myself am a 12 years sober member of AA and that's the solution that has worked for me.
I recommend either starting threads like you have done here, on whatever alcohol abuse topic you like, but also go through the threads that are open and see what other people are talking about. You might just like to follow a thread, or join in and make you own posts in that thread.
Keep posting!!
Here are a few questions to have a look at depending on the outcome AA may be one option that can help I know it has helped me. God Bless...

so
Why don't you think about what you like to do and concentrate getting active with a group of people who have the same interest? Join a club or take a class. And if you need someplace to go where there are no drinkers, an AA meeting is a good place to connect as well. But staying at home alone is a recipe for disaster if you are a drinker.
In AA we believe that if you know you have little or no control over the amount that you drink you are probably alcoholic. An alcoholic is an alcoholic because of 3 things:
A physical allergy
A mental obsession
A spiritual malady
An alcoholic drinks because he is alcoholic, no "reason" of life circumstance can "make" you drink.
You can call the AA helpline if you wish, and possibly arrange to meet up with a couple of its members who will explain further and accompany you to a meeting if you would like that.
Taking action is important - however you choose to do it - it is the first step to counteracting something that will probably become far more serious, even fatal.
Yes it allowed me to stop drinking but that's just the begining.
Good luck.
You might want to think about these things:
If when you honestly want to you cannot quit entirely, or if when drinking you have little control over the amount you take, you are probably alcoholic. If that be the case you may be suffering from an illness which only a spiritual experience will conquer.
When that was how it was for me, I went to AA. Got sober have been for a long time now. If that description fits you why not give AA a try, I am guessing that there will be meetinbs very close by if you are in Scotland!
I had lots of meetings to choose from when I was in Edinburgh and Glasgow. Nice people too!
in my early years i loved life......i have since shaken off all friends. i was told i fear relationships......that may be true.
pointing you in the right direction?......most point up. i like a leveled field.....find and understand self. then you can begin. only then can you look up and have an honest conversation.
