Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Fell down again after only 2 days this time. Renewing my determination today. I'm not even sure what happened--I just had a sudden strong craving and acted on it even though I know that cravings pass in time.. So stupid. I am posting this admission even though I do not want to (I am embarrassed) to help me stay honest and accountable on this journey. I am thankful to have found this place where I can do so.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Wishing for you to be happy, imagine no more chains. Cmon!
That happened to me when I tried to stop drinking. I made a week or ten days the first time before finding a ‘special’ occasion to have a few drinks. I stopped again the following day and redoubled my determination to stay sober. Second time around I lasted less than a week until there was another one of those special occasions. Three days later I was back to drinking continuously and I knew I was beaten. I was in a completely hopeless position and I believed (wrongly) that there was no way to fix it.
I didn’t know at the time that as an alcoholic I had become obsessed with alcohol and would always find a reason to drink. It was only when I could no longer believe my own excuses that I stopped fighting it and went to AA. Embarrassment will keep you sober for a while but once it wears off, the thought of drinking may return. You may need to do more.
Good luck and hang in there!
God Bless
