I would like to take a few minutes to welcome any newcomers to DS. This is an excellent forum for ppl seeking support to get sober and stay sober. If anyone is looking for support I am here, as are many other good ppl here. I feel some recent discussions are an embarassment to this community and I would hate for anyone to think that this is in any way a fair representation of DS. If you're new, please stay as these boards will soon be cleared of the offensive, inappropriate discussions that have taken place since last night.

Thank you for posting this.. i saw what was going on and it was awful.. this Daily Strength has helped me so much.. we are human and some of us are sicker than others. There is love here and support. I am happy tht this site found me before i searched for somewhere else... thank you.. and welcome newcomers.

Thank you for the message. With only a week on the site, I find that I will not add to any negativity. Each person may have a concern and I want to keep a positive attitude to anyone with a problem. I already have met some very caring people who are there to help and support me. I just do not feed into the negative attitudes.

Thanks for the post Ktharp...I agree this site is great for support and friendship. Some posts did get out of hand last night but that isn't how most ppl are here. I think things just got carried away. So to all the newcomers I say welcome and please stick around and get to know us here.

I'm off to have a somewhat productive day. I will be back later for anyone looking to talk to a sober person who enjoys helping others. In the meantime I happen to know there are good ppl here to help in my absence (egomaniac...me?)

I'm guilty of the cat fight too. It is a shame that ppl feel the need to insult others in a negative way,to make themselves feel better!

Also, to the rest of Ds I want to apoligize for MY OWN actions in reguards to my exchange with soberfun..Please dont let what I've posted sway the new comers from coming here for help. I just ahbor those who try bully others who ARE trying to stay sober and are coming here to do so. I dont do well with hyposcrisy either, I'm afraid..This is good place, please dont let the actions of a few scare anyone off.

I also want to apologize publicly for the way that I interacted with Soberfun last night. Stooping down to his level did nothing but push the situation and help it to continue on. This really is a good place, and I too have a hard time sitting back and watching someone bully others around. I truly hope that the actions of a few won't cause anyone to leave here because there truly are good people here!
