My mom passed away last week.

We had a great relationship even in the worst times she stood by me. Grateful I was sober to be responsible when she needed me the most.
For those that have issues with the ones closest to you or had a relationship like I had call them and tell them you love them or just call and say whatever comes to mind. You never know ya might not have another chance.

So , sorry To hear that G!!! Just got back from Fla. I was there with my favorite Aunt when she passed last week. Glad that she saw me become a Sober person !!!

gjm and okiyoe1 I am sorry for your losses....wow this seems quite a week...I did not lose someone but friend of mine lost his wife of just almost two yrs....sad....

Trust that they rest in peace....

holiday season is not going to be a wonderful like it used to be perhaps but you have us to share your wonderfulness with...hugs bill

Hey g, I'm really sorry that your Mum passed away. But I am glad that you could be sober and clean for her and for you. I lost my Mum 3 years ago September just passed and I miss her everyday, which is a miracle in itself because of the horror of my Dad's drinking, it's effects on her and both Dad's and her's effects on all of us, and then a drunken Stepfather after Dad died, made our relationship very bitter. But she got to Alanon and i got to AA and we got our shit together and for that I am very grateful.

I'm sorry to hear of your loss but inspired by your strength. I lost my mom 4 yrs. ago but unfortunatly was not sober at the time. Today I know she is looking down and proud of her daughter for being just a few days till I hit my 1 yr. anniversary. My sincere condolances to you and your family. Today I am attending the funeral of a friend's ex who died of alcoholism. I will be there for her and her son.sober... there by the grace of God go I. Peace....Kari

My mum passed away 2 years 3rd dec Like you I was sober & i'm gratefull for that
My friends in aa & coming on here helped at the time
Though I was sad alcohol had no allure at the time
