Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

What a wonderful journey it is. I lay here in bed this am reflecting in the safe comfy bed of mine. With my little yorkie by my side. Thinking back to that last bender. How awful I felt that I had to drink that feeling away only to have it return the next day when I repeated the dulling of pain ritual again. By the 3rd day I would find myself curled up in the backseat of my bug. Outside a AA meeting. Crying. Not going in to the meeting. I wasn't drinking then although I did have a glass sometime earlier. The last glass of wine. The close of the bender. The next day I was introduced to online Aa meetings and I started to attend those.
Now as I lay in bed I feel proud. Something I have felt for many of these 90 days. Unlike the days of old when I would lay here wondering what happened, what I said, did. Feeling a headache , nausea, having the shakes. That was no way to live. Yet I did for decades. Over and over. Reminds me of a song by David Allen Coe "I drank my wife away" I Was drinking my life away.
Now I take back what's mine. My life, health & happiness.
If your new here keep coming back. Reach out to everyone. Don't be shy. Make friends. This group and especially my solid core friends I made on here is a lifeline. It's free too so why not get the most out of the support that's offered. If I can do it you can to.
Love & Peace. Thanks for being there for me. I have fallen many times. Thanks for not giving up on me. You all are my heroes!!

I recently heard a great 2007 song the other day, "Falling Slowly" because it popped up in my newsfeed, accompanied by the sad news that the male singer, Glen Hansard, just died in a motorcycle accident. I learned that the song won an award and was featured in an indie movie called Once. I just watched it, and it's really good. They made it in 3 weeks on a $100,000 budget. It's streaming on...

Contrats to you on passing 90 days....those are much harder than 20yrs that is for sure...I would not want to have to start that 90 day trek again that is for sure....hugs bill
Go to a real meeting and get that 90-day chips. Those chips are awesome. They are mini trophies and I look at my chips every day. I keep them in my car. They remind me of my determination.
Billwfriend your recommendation was really a great step for me. I tell everyone about it. I couldn't think of the rest of your handle this morning when I was writing this. I could only remember Bill and was too lazy & a little sleepy to figure out the rest. You should for sure get all the credit introducing me to www.intherooms.com. I really like the meetings there. You helped me and by doing so I past the info on to help others. So who knows how many people in the end you will have helped.
No I haven't been to a f2f. Last night I went to a drum circle. At the end I got lots of hugs. It kinda felt like a AA. It was very therapeutic.
Jeff I get what your saying about the chips. I do plan to go to a meeting soon. As in within the month. Probably next Tues.
