Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

we got to check in and mom decided she was not doing chemo. I became so angry I had to leave. I drove home bawling, BUT did not stop for booze and then took an advil pm and went to sleep. Its time to refocus on me and try to get through this tough time:(
im back at work today, swamped, but ill be checking in especially around quitting time when the urge is the strongest to stop for booze.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

we are here with you in your time of stress and struggle.
it must be so difficult, words are trite in times like these.
Hold strong my friend.
You know that when are emotions are high, alcohol makes us do things we will regret later. So, stay strong. Have some relaxing Pam-time tonight - hot tea, bubble bath, good book/movie ...

I became angry but looking back, I realized my anger was me being selfish, and letting him go and watching him die was one of the most difficult things I ever had to do. I also remember another time when my dad was consoling me after a coworker had past away and he said, "death is a part of life and we have to learn to accept it," and I think of that every time someone close is dying or has past. Just simple acceptance seems to make it easier, kinda like accepting I have a problem with alcohol. I know I can't beat it so I accept it, like dying and death!
This is a good post because it is something that has triggered my drinking in the past but I handle it differently now.
I will keep your mom in my thoughts and prayers.
God Bless!

If you had a friend in your situation, what would you want for her? I bet you would tell her that she is loved. I bet you would let her know that you are always there for her. You would watch out for her and make sure that she stayed sober, because that might be the single most important thing to getting through this difficult time in one piece.
Look out for Pam. Be your own best friend. You deserve it.
