Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I don't know what I did to deserve this amazing life I now have but it just happens day by day as long as I call my sponsor daily and go to meetings regularly aswell as my 12 step work. Knowing I haven't drank for nearly 7 months with the help and support of my friends, family, sponsor and members of AA I wonder what I did to deserve all of this because I definitely wasn't the nicest person when I was drinking. I can't even put into words how great full I still am for what these people have done for me.
Me and my mum were talking about me drinking yesterday and she told me she was very close to asking me to leave and hearing little things like that every now and then remind me how bad things were.
My advice to anyone who wants to be happy is try a few different AA meetings, get a sponsor and do the 12 steps, once you finish step 12 if you're still not happy then no one will stop you having a drink again if that's what you chose. All I'm saying is give it one try and get through the steps just once and then have just one moment and think which life would you prefer. I'm not saying everyday will be a walk in the park but it will be a lot better than it was. You'll be able to enjoy life once again, I give you my word!!

Can you identify these rom-coms from just a screenshot from the middle of the films? This is a multiple choice quiz so even if you're not entirely sure you can always take a guess and at least have a 25% chance of getting it right anyway, so why not have a go?! https://www.buzzfeed.com/alysaurus688/rom-com-screenshot-trivia-quiz

It can be haunting thinking about our pasts.
just rocking your boat a tad....congrats and AA is a great way for many young people....have you found ICYPAA yet? pronounced Ikypaw
International Conference of Young People in AA
they are around if you seek service in youth groups...
Bill, My Psych dr told me that if I thought I could drink like a "normal" person to go out and give it a try. I did and found out that I couldn't. What I hear said in AA is "Try 90 meetings in 90 days and if you still don't want what we have, we will gladly refund your misery". That is not a saying from the Big Book, but is a slogan I often hear, esp to newcomers.
I, too, got sober in AA, but I firmly believe that it doesn't matter how we get sober just as long as we get there.
I congratulate all those who are sober. I also want to assure others who are struggling that sobriety is possible.
