Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I get not getting cootoes..
I give you coodoes..GO GIRL
My wife and I had always been drinkers. She can still drink although I question how long she will be a fully functioning drinker at her current rate. She has never pushed drinks on me, but comments that she does not think that I am an alcoholic. I proved her and myself wrong a little over a month ago.
Only once in 4 years has she commented positively on my sobriety (had 3.5 years before my relapse, and had several months in the beginning trying to get sober).
It is not easy to be with someone who does not support what you are doing. Add to that trying to offer you drinks (so that he probably feels better about himself) and well, I get it, not a very comfortable situation for you.
Kudo's though for your sobriety and being here. Maybe you can educate him on how he affects you and your desire to stay sober.
I was a normal drinker till the kids and wife went to sleep. Then I drank myself to blackout. It progressed (like it usually does) to me needing to drink before getting home from work so that I could still appear to be a normal drinker.
Then I would need to plant a bottle of wine in the garage so that I could drink more during the normal evening hours when everyone was up.
I think you can tell where I was heading slowly but surely. I hope this does not happen to you too.
Don't look from praise from your partner, but you should have respect at least. Yes, life does look different with sober eyes. WAY different. But better. Not at first, but eventually. As for the teen . . . well, teens are a challenge even when they are not substance abusers. Do your best to not let them "get" to you. Post here. Vent here. Do nice things for yourself.
Best of luck to you.
