Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Officially ONE YEAR SOBER!!! I did a happy dance at midnight when I realized I had really made it an entire year. I fucking did it. I feel so powerful and strong what I can accomplish and in myself!!! Tomorrow I go to my first meeting in celebration and to continue my growth and recovery.
I never imagined that I would be this woman I am becoming.
Thank you God (universe, divine, goddess, etc.) for your unwavering strength and forgiveness. I feel you flowing through me every moment of every day. I have found a peace and strength inside myself I never knew existed. I look forward to growing and learning more this year and for the rest of my delightful life.
"I understood myself only after I destroyed myself. And only in the process of fixing myself, did I know who I really was."
Love and all is coming.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

Keep following your heart and congratulations on a year!'
God Bless
Happy New Year! I hope you're dancing again in another year. Hope I'm doing the same.
As far as how I did it. I could see my drinking was excessive but I thought I was in control. One night I went home and started chugging ever-clear from the bottle in the freezer. The drinking amplified my anger and it was awful. Being BPD, I have physically violent rages anyway and going into that under the influence was just the topper. I told my partner that night to hide the bottle or dump it. I never got drunk again. Something In me changed that night. I hated myself for who I had become. It was either drink myself to death or change. I chose change.
That's not to say it wasn't easy. Coming into 2018 I made it a sober year. there was no option to drink. Just had to see what happened as I stayed sober. There was a slip up or 2 in the six months but I never got DRUNK. The drink or two I did have tasted awful and made me feel like shit.
I built my life around being sober. Started riding my bike for work and was doing 100-300 miles a week. I stopped hanging out with my drinking buds. I started taking Kratom to stabilize (off of that now). I made plans to move from a toxic city and into a quieter, more community oriented place. I am not looking for meetings to go to and I will be attending my church again out here.
I guess in short, How I did it. I made a choice. And I fuckin stuck to it when it was hard.
I didn't put myself in places where I was tempted to drink. I cried out my anger and sadness and felt thru them rather than pushing those feelings away and numbing myself. Being celibate was really huge for me too. Sex addiction and substance abuse were too intertwined for me.
And respect of MY PERSON. Which is where the celibacy came in. Don't touch me. Don't get in my way. I've got work to do.
HAHAHA i've lost some friends but... where they really friends to begin with?
