Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
My garden is communal and of postage stamp size but a couple of years ago I grew some tomatoes and vegetables and I loved it. All very relaxing and satisfying.
Enjoy the goat, I would love one. But dont forget they will eat absolutely anything!!
Happy farming.
I thought about goats. they say you don't have to cut grass. lol
a few years back i was headbutted by a goat, hurt like hell
This is where I am today. Thanks for your post, it gives me hope that this is possible! And congratulations. It is possible to enjoy life again. Right now, life is hell, but it won't always be this way. If I want this hell to be over with quickly, I have to put in the leg work and get serious. Really serious about this. This is now a matter or life or death. Part of myself has already died, but your post proves that you can regain those parts of yourself that you thought were lost. They were always there, just drowned out by alcohol.
Ebb and flow. Be grateful for where you are today. Looking back where you were a year ago. Wow, right?

Love to hear you doing so well. What a difference a year makes! Hooray for sobriety!
Who wants to be cool and falling down the stairs of a bar? Actually were we ever really cool when we drank? I doubt it - we just thought we were.
Good for you - so glad you are sticking with your sobriety.
Its good to hear about daily success in recovery.
I was just thinking about this subject this morning. I have a bit over 9 months. I am also just coming off of another nice, "normal" weekend. This time last year I would have done just about anything to have a day free from the compulsion to drink. A nice normal day, a nice normal "life."
I used to think it would be great just to have a reset botton. A way to forget that I was an alcoholic, or had had an eating disorder, and just erase all the bad. Now I no longer wish to erase all the "bad" and in fact, I'm coming to see that the "bad" is what helps me relate to others, and makes the sobriety I now have so rich and wonderful. I'm a grateful recovering alcoholic. I used to think that expression was the epitomy of bullshit.
I appreciate all the support. It feels good most days to be right here.
xoxo
