Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I was let go from my job today. That just sucks.
But as I look back, the job wasn't a good fit for me. I started in June 2021 and enjoyed what I was doing and got on with many of my co-workers. But then lack of training, lack of support and lack of resources started stressing me out. As hard as I tried, I couldn't seem to meet expectations, but how can one know what to do if one doesn't get training. It became a weekly cycle of "why haven't you done "x"?" and my reply is "no one told me about this".
But I take this as an opportunity to find the right job. I took the job as a means to facilitate a move back to my hometown to be close to family.
The good news is absolutely no thought of booze. And an AA meeting tomorrow night. At last week's meeting, we discussed our personal "concept of God as we understood him". During the meeting, I was able to verbalize what I have always thought about God. God always has my back. And He has my back now and I trust He has good things in store for me.
So I'm just gonna peace out and let God be in charge. I'm doing the footwork - I have already applied for unemployment benefits and have already started my job search.
Anyways, I needed to share this with someone. Thank you for being here.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

Hope the dog days of summer aren't getting you down!

My work got slow a while back and I fretted about it for a week and then had enough of that. The very first cabinet shop I went in to ask for work the project manager came up to me, got on his knees and offered me twice what I had been making. They couldn’t find a qualified installer and had some huge jobs going.
Just have to put yourself out there. That’s nice that you have your faith. And that a drink isn’t an option.
anyway glad you have not had the urges to get drunk....that is amazing is it not?
You have a better job waiting for you because good things happen when we stay sober!
God Bless
I lost ( had to close) my restaurant of 4 years last October. I had put everything into it but the pandemic just was too hard to stay open during. Sooo a lifelong dream and it’s gone. I was devastated and lost and broke but happy. Happy I didn’t have to be around booze all day and away from my family all night and weekend.
Strange but today I am glad.
I pray for you to find a new job that is better and makes you happier.
