Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I found that things leveled out after a week. You can do this

Thanks for your reply. I have been drinking lots of water / seltzer and eating regular meals, etc. Its just weird because I don't remember feeling this way before. Maybe I blocked it out!

Ditto with 1is2many. Lemon-lime gatorade was my fave. And your body will adjust in a few days after it fully detoxes.
You may not have experienced before if your alcohol consumption was not as high. I was consuming high levels of vodka before I quit and had the jitters begin about day two/three, but they were short lived as 1-2 stated.
Hang in there!

I just got home from a "trivia night" with my wife and there was free soda. I feel better now than I did earlier which may be from the sugar in the soda and I may feel not-great tomorrow but at least it will be from sugar and not booze!

Ran across your thread and had to say great job. So awesome that you enjoyed yourself this evening and got through it. It's definitely a daily struggle, but you're doing great.
I'm a wife to a currently struggling alcoholic... only he doesn't think he's an alcoholic. It's so terribly hard and stressful... and scary. I hope my husband can find the same strength you have and realize alcohol isn't medicine...
Ty for your encouraging post and sharing your journey. I hope I don't sound lame..
You don't sound lame! I hope your husband finds the strength to realize he needs to change his behavior. Have you told him about this support group?
Maybe interacting with others in the same boat will help him realize he is not alone and he can overcome his struggles.

You are probably ok but it wouldn't hurt to stop by the doctor's office for a BP check or better yet, a visit with your doctor just to be on the safe side. Good luck.
They must abstain from alcohol.
Rw, I'm curious, as I've been wondering about you, your last post was that you were temporarily stopping and had some champagne with your wife and friends. Where do you see your situation now?
Do you think you're alcoholic? Did this morning's jitters frighten you a bit? I would have been scared.
I hope you are feeling better this afternoon.
