Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
I have a network of quality weirdo's just like me that I can run shit by. We all works steps on a weekly basis.
me and my x-sponsor are great friends and i still get with him about alcoholism and powerlessness on a weelkly basis.
Long story short once you get several years I believe your program adapts to what works for yourself and a "one and only sponsor" is not necessarily mandatory.
I hope whatever works for you works.
I believe in the promise "We will intuitively know how to handle situations which used to baffle us".
I have a network of solid, sober folks who are always there if and when I need them. I spend most of my time with program people and we bounce a lot of stuff off of each other. Always learning!!
I know someone who has over 20 years and still runs to a sponsor for a broken shoelace. Not quite where I wanna be and I don't think that's the intention of sponsorship.

There must be a reason your asking do you feel you have a need for one?
The way I see it, I will ask for help from whomever I think has some experience or knowledge about what I am struggling with, steps or otherwise. I also try to help others regardless of whether or not I am their sponsor.
What do you think you need? Why not reach out to some individuals here who you find to might have something to offer you?
Thank god for the compassion and honesty they conveyed . While being willing to be patient , straight forward or whatever it might take , if asked to help a human being(like myself) with lots of delusional thinking going on about what might be best for them. While acting as if everything was Ok

These are the people I've grown up with in the fellowship. In my first 10 yrs, seems like many people sponsored me at one time or another. When my sponsor moved to Ark., I talked to oldtimers if something came up. Life doesn't stop happening just because we're sober awhile.
I am still active in my home group. My day brightens up every time I see all my friends in the rooms. I feel a responsibility to give back what was so freely given to me. I don't show up just to get a "chip" once a year. I'm there in the trenches helping other alcoholics achieve sobriety. I sponsor others into service work and through the steps.
Small price to pay for a way of life that saved mine. No other people I'd rather hang with.
