I use AA to treat alcoholism.  I understand if anyone else doesn't, but I have some time today to write a bit, so I want to use that time to write about how the Chapter Into Action in the book Alcoholics Anonymous works in my life.  

I have said here before that AA says alcoholism is an illness of body and mind, and after finding that, then allowing your self to believe there is a higher power than your mind and body, following those two, then allowing your mind and body to follow that higher power's "dictates", and then making an "inventory" of who you are presently.  Those are steps one through four, basically, and in my opinion, none of them are that big of a deal.  What is a big deal is they aren't a big deal, but they can be of help.  

Recently I was able to open up and discuss what was going on inside of me, in an area relating to how our survival instinct sees as a great way to fit ourselves securely, and that opening up allowed the person I was opening up to, see, I was becoming of wrong, or thinking in the wrong direction.  I confessed of a general dissatisfaction of an instance in my daily routine, and they made comments in return.  I used those comments, instead of disregarding them as "noise from another" to make a decision, to re-correct my thinking, or at least attempt to do so.  

I could care less about the decision, what I really care about is I got some security in my core that I was going to be free from alcohol, another day, and I could care less about that personally, but I do know that God's plan cares about it greatly for some reason.  That's really what treating alcoholism is all about, it's not some grandious operation that is going to save the world, it's just a simple fix here or input there, that makes what is to go forward, remain sound and sane.  

When I put my inventory into the view, for my mind, God, and another to see, I saw, my fundamental principles relating to that fit of interest had remained the same.  I was very happy about that, and was able to concur that if I remain the same, and do the work that produces something greater than myself, I'll always be able to tap into that mind of clarity that someone with a drink problem, of an alcoholism nature, finds solutions from.  I think we eternally heal always, and I don't think it is a one and done thing, and if I am open minded to Into Action, it's process of communicating with others about what is going on inside my body and mind, if that same body and mind, want someone to know, I usually get the best right answer, which is good news too, because it's not like I will crater if I don't do this and just go with my own sound right answer. 

It's like a win-win actually, and the reason I am talking about Into Action and AA is I think it gets a bad wrap, and I just wanted to write down how easy and accomodating it can be.
