Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

There are many resources available for getting sober. Mine was AA just because I did not know of any other at the time. It worked and still works for me.
AA along with personal therapy and this forum has kept me sober for today. Tomorrow I go for another day.
Welcome to the group if you are new, it sounds like you are.
Find one and go. See I had no idea what I had and now I know that I have an alcoholic personality when I drink alcohol I have a strong compulsion to bring more more
And when I'm not drinking alcohol I have a strong desire to and only through meeting with other alcoholics with recover was I able to learn what I did not know
I'm not saying that aa is the only choice but I tried everything else and nothing worked.
Take the bullby the horns.
C'mon

For me, the point is, that I really want (and need) this. I had plenty of opportunities to drink this past weekend but just kept asking for the strength to avoid it. One opportunity after another presented themselves so I could do it. You can too!
Also, just knowing you want this is HUGE. Do it for yourself. You can't be there for anyone else if you are drinking, right? So do it for yourself and everyone wins.
Please try an AA meeting or 10:-) Its really been a lifesaver for me, and by proxy my family.
