Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I managed to get thru the Thanksgiving holiday with Roomies family. They wandered where I'd been for the last two years and I caught them talking behind my back. This is the reason why I want to stay home at the holidays. I dont have time for 2 faced people...i have trust issues as it is. I tried telling Roomie about it but he seemed to get offended.
I've been telling him I'd like to redecorate the house. He took two vases off the hutch because he collects hot wheels..the vases where on the floor so I loaded them up and took them back to Goodwill. This evening be asked me why i took them because be liked them...this is the most feedback I've gotten from him in months as he never expresses himself. I apologized and told him I was redecorating and they dont match and there is no where to put hem. He likes clutter and I cant tolerate it. I compromised. He never has to lift a finger to clean so I'm not cleaning anymore clutter than I have to. I wish I was car dwelling by myself or I wish I was again in a financial situation where I could get my own place. But, it's impossible since I am paying my credit card off due to car repairs. I'm just taking it day to day. I started back at the gym. It felt good to get back in. I'm doing a 30 day challenge. I figure between waiting on the insurance decision and getting cleared for surgury I'll have atleast 30.days. I dont know what I'll do if the insurance doesnt pay.
I'll be down for 2 weeks after surgury. So, I figure of I start working on ot now I'd be better off as I wont be able to lift weights for a few weeks.
I havent heard from my ex and dont plan too. Would I give him.a third chance? Hed have to have stopped drinking and he owes me a thousand apologies. He'll never do right by me. So no...itll never happen and as much as it hurts to.let go I should.move on. As far as Roomie goes, theres no spark or passion there. We still sleep in seperate rooms and I pay my share. I'll never marry him because he'll never ask. But, I will say...after breaking up with my ex, I have finally stopped looking thru Rose colored glasses. I stopped believing in the fairytale because fairytales arent reality. Reality is...people are difficult and so are relationships and I've just about given up my last drop of hope.

check out that smoke ring. It tasted really good. I smothered it with Maulls BBQ sauce which is Local to St. Louis and one of the best I ever had.....

I was recently separated from my wife of 33 years and it's complicated. Anyway I rented a room about 15 minutes away and I see my kids about once a week. I see the people who own the house I live in once in a while but other than that I stay in my room where I do my cooking, wash dishes in the shower, read, color, and sleep. I get out at least once a day. I grocery shop and I attend 2 meetings...

God Bless
The relationship thing is tricky. My wife and I have taken a year apart to look after ourselves and it’s been working for us. The times we get together are really special because we appreciate it. There is no taking anything for granted. What we put into the moment is all there is. I always thought I was a pretty stable guy until I spent a year alone with myself and learned how to be happy with my own company. Now I feel the difference in my relationship. I have more to offer.
I think Yard has a good point....
Glad you made it through thanksgiving. Does that mean sober? Remember when people talk about others they aren’t happy with themselves. It’s not their fault so try not to take it personally.
