Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

I've suffered from an eating disorder for years and years. I had moved on from the physical, but struggled with the mental. For the most part, I had been okay. After a two week alcohol binge, and many previous signs, I've stopped drinking. Completely. And I've noticed that when I stopped drinking, I stopped eating. I think my drinking was to not feel, just like not eating is. Intellectually I know I'm depriving myself of much needed calories, intellectually I know if this goes on for much longer it's going to stick. But I can't bring myself to eat. I'm already noticing that I'm losing weight. And I'm really noticing what it's like to block it out and hurt myself again. I don't want to eat, I don't want to be controlled by drinking. I have no f-ing clue what to do.

Can you identify these rom-coms from just a screenshot from the middle of the films? This is a multiple choice quiz so even if you're not entirely sure you can always take a guess and at least have a 25% chance of getting it right anyway, so why not have a go?! https://www.buzzfeed.com/alysaurus688/rom-com-screenshot-trivia-quiz

Hang in there. It can get better and you WILL recover if you reach out for help.
Good luck
If you are having eating problems now that you've quit drinking -- well something is not right with that. You should be celebrating your commitment to be healthier, not depriving yourself of needed nutrition. Please get this figured out -- maybe counseling if you can't do it on your own.
I don't know if this is how you feel, but I do know that dual diagnoses surrounding addiction are so common. This is heartbreaking and I hope you get yourself into a therapist as soon as you can! If you were able to manage your eating disorder in the past, then that speaks volumes about your desire to get healthy. How is your pain level managed by not eating?
I started to get very ill and my therapist told me that she couldnt continue to work with me unless I went to an eating disorders specialist which I did. Maybe that is something you need to consider doing? I came to realise that food was just like alcohol and that the idea that i was in control was an illusion. I had a very unhealthy relationship with food and that was what was controlling the situation. Again I had to let go.
Things are different now and I still have some problems in this area which are getting dealt with as part of other treatment for mental health problems. But everything is better than it was. I strongly suggest you get some help from someone who specialises in eating problems. It is very easy to think we are in control when we are not and we often need help with this.
But really, thank you all so much for supporting me. It's great to know that I'm not alone right now.
