Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.
And keep posting here, if you have any comments and questions. You will find we are really supportive and knowledgeable.

You sound like me....I drank a bottle of wine a night...or more...most nights for years. And I got so sick of being sick and anxious.
On staying sober...I had no problem stopping. I stopped all the time. For a few days, months, even a year+. But I would drink again as my sobriety without a program, was uncomfortable at best.
I found AA to be the solution.
I havent heard about drugs in AA. If you don't like the first meeting, go to another. Go to a closed meeting for alcoholics. You will find what you are looking for.
Also it helps to kill the time that you are used to using to drink. I found some of the hardest times in the beginning were because everyone I was used to being around drank. At the end of my drinking I drank alone so getting out to a meeting and being around others was good for me, uncomfortable at first but very good for me as my head cleared and I made a few friends. I have not drank in almost six years now and life is amazing. It can be amazing for you too.
You are not alone.
