Alcoholism Support Group
Alcoholism is the continued consumption of alcoholic beverages, even when it is negatively affecting your health, work, relationships and life. If you think alcohol is causing you to lose control, it's time to seek help. Our group is a safe place to vent, check in, get back up if you fall, and reach sobriety.

Hope this helps.
Having been in that sad sad sad place before I know how difficult it is to lift yourself out of it. Nothing that people say seems to make much difference and sometimes you just have to give it time. One of my favourite expressions is: This Too Shall Pass and it tells me that even though today may be sad, happier times will come.
Scotty is gone to a better place and is not suffering so that is good but the memories live on. Shortly after I stopped drinking my dad got unwell and was facing serious surgery with no guarantee that he would survive. I remember sitting in my car outside a shop that was close to where I used to drink and thinking that I would get stoned. Instead, I phoned an AA friend and she reminded me to accept Gods will. From that moment on it was no longer about how I felt but the focus shifted to what I could do for my mother and other family members. My mum has been sick recently and I feared the worst so the sad times returned. She is a little better now but she is a big age and unfortunately there will come a time when reality has to be faced. What I have decided to do is to try and make the most of the time that she is here by copying her old photographs and putting names to the faces, gathering family history etc.
All I can tell you is that if you get through this sober, you will have the foundation to build a bright future. This Too Shall Pass.
When I lost my last dog (cancer) - everything felt so empty without him, I completely empathize. It is so hard. In fact I just teared up thinking of him and it has been 8 years now. Hold onto the happy memories.
Good Luck - Stay Strong.

Drinking doesn't help sad. Better to deal with the pain and loss with a clear head. I think it will help you move through the grieving process, even though it's going to be rough at times.
((((hugs))))
